About

who am I? Pythagoras the Sage. I studied philosophy to Master’s level, focusing especially on Plato’s use of myth as an art form to express complex philosophical ideas. I did a lot of analysis, but found that I was missing something of the life of philosophy.

After my studies, I began to look elsewhere. My journey took me to the thought systems of the east, especially Buddhism and non-dual Vedanta traditions. I saw striking similarities with the thinkers of the ancient Mediterranean. Here I found that too much thought could be just as dangerous as not reflecting on one’s actions at all. This helped me realize that philosophy is an exhortation to action, an invitation to instantiate the good life for ourselves.

my praxis developed: guided dialogues exploring the deep questions of human existence, to help you fathom out your own views and develop tools to defend them rigorously and the detachment to let go of them when they no longer serve.

philosophy is a therapeutic: it is here to heal our sorrows. it is not here to give us the answers: but to teach us the means to create these for ourselves.

philosophy cannot breathe without the spirit; and the spirit cannot remain grounded without the mind. i employ a non-dual praxis which blends academic rigour with spiritual openness. this is what sets me apart: I ground my teaching in its historic context without depriving it of the life it needs to remain relevant for us today.

  • Philosophy teaches us to question received ideas and create our own answers. It’s not about following a set of rules—it’s about crafting your own solutions to life’s challenges. Through dialogue and playful exploration, philosophy equips us with tools of analysis that we can apply to every sphere of life, helping us uncover the roots of suffering and transform them into joy.

While philosophy is often confined to academic walls, I believe it’s a gift meant for everyone. At Akouon, I share philosophy as a practice for empowerment, connection, and transformation

  • Let’s take it back to the Greek: philosophy means “the love of wisdom.” But philosophy doesn’t tell us what’s wise—it asks us to discover that for ourselves.

It’s not about the answers; it’s about the act of questioning. Every time you ask why, that’s philosophy. Every time you challenge established doctrine to search for meaning, that’s philosophy. It’s a powerful methodology for crafting your own solutions and a new lens for seeing the world.
